Great job! I really enjoyed going back to look at the examples you provided to see how they corresponded with your comments. I thought you made a great point when you mentioned that a transfer of learning occurs outside of the classroom. This is a great way to have the students hold on to that information rather than solely learning it for a test and the loosing it. I agree that the teacher participates in the discovery of the project and has the opportunity to learn more about his or her students.

There are many times when standardized test do not accurately measure a student's intelligence and it is an issue when, like you said, you cannot attach a note to their record indicating that they are smarter than the scores reflect. You mentioned that based on participation you are able to assess who is grasping the material, perhaps many students are grasping the material but choosing not to participate. I wanted to ask you what you determine from speaking with your colleagues about a student's performance in another class, but you answered that in Part 2. If you are able to recognize that a student is just not interested in geography what ways do try to increase his or interest? Or, in the other situation, if something else in their life is distracting them from the education, is there something specific that you do for them?
